MINISTRY INSIDE FBC
HELPING HANDS
Elder Care
This is an as-needed ministry. This ministry helps meet the needs of elderly or disabled people in our church and community by transporting them to doctor appointments, shopping trips, the laundromat, etc.
Office Support
Volunteers are needed on weekday mornings to help answer the phone, help in newsletter preparations and other jobs in the church office. The office at FBC is the logistic center (heartbeat) of our church. The goal of the church office is to help keep the church informed of all church business and information regarding schedules of church events and other pertinent information.
Prayer Team
Volunteers are needed for various prayer programs within the church. Please visit our Prayer Program for more information.
Bus Ministry
FBC’s bus ministry is available on Sunday mornings to transport people to and from our morning services. Volunteers for this ministry serve by driving the bus approximately twice a year. Our bus ministry is also used during our Vacation Bible School.
Tape Ministry
This ministry exists to deliver tapes to our members unable to attend church. The tapes are available each Sunday morning immediately following the 11:00 AM service. Tapes are taken weekly to our shut-ins and members in nursing homes.
Visitation
Most church members appreciate a visit every once in awhile. The purpose of visitation is to share God’s love by sharing a few minutes with those who have a hard time getting out. The more volunteers available, the more visits can be made. Time commitment depends on your schedule.
The mission of this ministry is to promote healthy behaviors necessary to achieve optimum wellness within the faith community of First Baptist Church. Our goals are to continue to provide programs to increase the activity level of congregants and provide special wellness events throughout the year.
Library
Our church provides a library where members (adults & children) can find resources to read. We also have a wide selection of movies for all ages.
VIPs
This ministry provides Christian growth, service and fellowship for people 60 and over. VIPs provide fun, good food, and fellowship for our senior adults. Monthly meetings take place on the second Tuesday of each month in the Family Life Center at 11:45 AM.
Project Restore
The mission of Project Restore is to encourage formerly active church members to recommit their gifts, talents, time and energy to God in the church body.
COMMITTEES
Parking Lot Team
This team strives to be a friendly face to people coming to our church and to help in directing them where they need to go for worship, Bible studies, or special events. Shuttle is available from your car to the sanctuary.
Hostess Committee
The Hostess Committee is a group who encourages fellowship among the members of FBC. They are an active group that helps organize, prepare and serve meals at various events throughout the year. This committee needs volunteers to help serve, decorate and clean up for those special events.
Recreation Committee
The Recreation Committee is responsible for planning the activities of FBC fellowships. It is important, as a church body, to play together! New ideas are always welcome. This committee also oversees registration for church basketball, men’s softball, women’s softball, our lake fellowship and other events. This ministry exists to offer a fun environment where all ages of FBC can fellowship with planned activities.
Orientation Committee
The Orientation Committee exists to help new members become more familiar with FBC’s programs and ministries. New member fellowships are held quarterly to help our new church family members become acquainted with the different organizations and missions of our church and to welcome them into the body of believers at FBC.
Risk and Safety Committee
Our Risk and Safety Committee was formed to address safety concerns of the church body. They meet on an as-needed basis to evaluate and make recommendations of specific areas or needs that are safety concerns for the church (buildings, people, grounds, etc.). We strive to enhance the safety and security for church members and property so members can worship safely. We also assist in emergency needs of church members.
Welcome Team
This ministry is for the early morning service on Sundays. The goal is to make sure every one attending our service is given a friendly, personal welcome, helping to put them in a spirit of worship. Greeters are scheduled for a month at a time. This ministry exists to hand out literature, to assist people in finding seats when crowded, take up tithes and offerings, and collect the Friendship Pages.
